Ses images ont été exposées dans des galeries aux quatre coins du monde et ses tirages sont très recherchés des collectionneurs de photographie d’art. Joachim E. Berendt a publié en 1953 le plus bel ouvrage sur l’histoire du jazz de tous les temps, The Jazz Book. Sa contribution au jazz en tant que musicologue et producteur de plus de 250 disques est aujourd’hui reconnue dans le monde entier. Taschen a également publié Jazz Seen, Steve McQueen et le Rudi Gernreich Book, trois albums de William Claxton, ainsi que réédité une version remise à jour de Jazzlife, de William Claxton et Joachim E. Berendt.

Joachim E. Berendt first published The Jazz Book in 1953, which became the most successful history book on jazz in the world. Berendt’s contributions to jazz as a sosicologist and a producer of over 250 records are internationally recognized to this day.
